Mullaney's Harp & Fiddle
our story
Since 1992, Mullaney’s Harp & Fiddle has been more than just a pub—it’s been a home for Pittsburgh’s Irish community and a welcoming place for all. Founded by Anne and Brian Mullaney along with Sean Patrick Murphy, the pub quickly became a neighborhood institution in the heart of the Strip District. From day one, our success has been built on the dedication of a remarkable team. David Regan, who managed the pub for decades, has been here since opening day. Declan, our beloved Cork native, has been pouring perfect pints since the beginning, and Ann Burns has kept everything running smoothly for nearly 30 years. Their commitment, along with that of our extended staff, is the foundation of what makes Harp & Fiddle so special.
Starting in 2025, the next generation is proudly stepping in to continue that legacy. Dan Regan and John Kearney—nephews of David and Anne—are carrying the torch with energy and purpose. While honoring the traditions that have defined us for over 30 years, they are also bringing fresh ideas to enhance the guest experience. From expanding hours and adding more TVs for sports fans, creating new annual traditions like a Kentucky Derby viewing party, opening Sundays for soccer fans, to welcoming new musical acts alongside our treasured traditional Irish performers, they are keeping the spirit alive while evolving to meet today’s needs. We're proud to be known as Pittsburgh’s most authentic Irish pub, home to 12 hours of live Irish music on St. Patrick’s Day, the city’s annual St. Patrick's Day parade headquarters, and the original host of the annual “Great Guinness Toast."
Mullaney’s has always been more than a place to grab the perfect pint. For decades, we’ve hosted weddings, wakes, baptisms, birthdays, business events, reunions, and fundraisers. Live music has filled our stage 3–5 nights a week, including our long-running Tuesdays with the Pittsburgh Ceili Club. We’ve created a space where everyone—locals, visitors, longtime patrons, and first-timers—feels at home. As the Strip District continues to grow into a vibrant residential and cultural hub, we remain committed to serving as a welcoming and lively gathering place for the community..
